Aḥmad Rāsim Nafīs is an Egyptian physician, university professor, and Twelver Shia Islamic activist born on August 2, 1952, in Mansoura, Egypt. He is well-known for his conversion from Sunni to Shia Islam and has authored around 30 books. Nafīs holds a Bachelor's degree in medicine (1977), a Master's in Internal Medicine (1983), and a Ph.D. in Internal Medicine focusing on diabetes and glands (1992). He currently serves as a professor of Internal Medicine at Mansoura University, where he has supervised numerous master's and doctoral theses and has participated in many medical conferences.
