ʻAbd al-Munʻim ʻAbd al-Raʼūf was an Egyptian military officer and founding member of the Free Officers Organization, born on May 16, 1914, in the Abbasia district of Cairo. He was aligned with Islamic ideologies and the Muslim Brotherhood, actively participating in the 1948 war and training others. He played a significant role in the 1952 Revolution, helping to overthrow King Farouk. Due to a crackdown on the Brotherhood by President Gamal Abdel Nasser, he left Egypt in 1955 but returned in 1972, later having a death sentence against him annulled. He died in 1985 after a prolonged illness.
