ʻAbd al-Majīd Farghalī was an Egyptian poet born on January 14, 1932, in the village of Nakheila, Assiut, Egypt. He memorized the Quran by age twelve and completed his education at various institutes, including the Faculty of Law at Ain Shams University in 1977. Farghalī taught in elementary education from 1952 until 1977 and later worked as an inspector for the Ministry of Education until his retirement in 1992. He spent time teaching in Libya and served as the head of the Literary Club of Sadfa until his death on December 3, 2009.
