Dumas is a city in Desha County, Arkansas, United States. It is located on the Arkansas-Mississippi state line, approximately 80 miles (130 km) southeast of Little Rock. The city has a humid subtropical climate, with hot, humid summers and mild winters. Dumas was founded in 1872 by the Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad, and was named after Alexandre Dumas, père, the French novelist. The city's economy is based on agriculture, manufacturing, and tourism.
