Gorodok, L’vivs’ka, Ukraine

Gorodok is a small town in western Ukraine, located in the L'vivs'ka Oblast, near the border with Poland. It has a humid continental climate with warm summers and cold winters. Gorodok was first mentioned in 1211 and was an important trade center in the Middle Ages. It was part of the Kingdom of Poland from 1349 to 1772 and then part of the Austrian Empire until 1918. After World War I, Gorodok became part of Poland, and after World War II, it became part of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic. Since 1991, Gorodok has been part of independent Ukraine.
