Çarşamba is a town and district of Samsun Province in the Black Sea Region of Turkey. It is located at 41°11′56″N 36°43′19″E, on the coast of the Black Sea. The town has a humid subtropical climate, with warm, humid summers and cool, wet winters. Çarşamba has a long and rich history, dating back to the ancient Greek city of Themiscyra. The town was later ruled by the Romans, Byzantines, and Ottomans. Today, Çarşamba is a modern town with a population of over 100,000 people. It is an important center of agriculture and industry, and is home to several historical and cultural landmarks.
