Keşap is a district of Giresun Province in the Black Sea Region of Turkey. It is located at 40.9163900 latitude and 38.5144400 longitude in the eastern part of the province, bordering Trabzon Province to the east. The district has a humid subtropical climate with mild winters and warm summers. Keşap has a rich history and heritage, with evidence of human habitation dating back to the Bronze Age. The district was part of the ancient Greek kingdom of Pontus and later became part of the Roman Empire. In the Middle Ages, it was ruled by the Byzantine Empire and then by the Seljuk Turks. Keşap was finally incorporated into the Ottoman Empire in the 15th century.
