Şarkîkaraağaç, also known as Doğukaraağaç, is a town and district of Isparta Province in the Mediterranean Region of Turkey. It is located in the western part of the province, bordered by Eğirdir to the west, Gelendost to the north, and Sütçüler to the east. The town has a humid subtropical climate, with hot, dry summers and mild, wet winters. Şarkîkaraağaç has a rich history and heritage, dating back to the ancient Greek period. The town was part of the Byzantine Empire until the 13th century, when it was conquered by the Seljuk Turks. It later became part of the Ottoman Empire and remained under Ottoman rule until the foundation of the Turkish Republic in 1923.
