Kebili, also known as Qibili, is a town in southern Tunisia located at 33.7043900 latitude and 8.9690300 longitude. The town has a hot desert climate with an average annual temperature of 22.6°C and average annual precipitation of 100 mm. Kebili has a rich history and heritage, with evidence of human settlement dating back to the Neolithic period. The town was an important stop on the trans-Saharan trade routes and was home to a number of Berber tribes. In the 19th century, Kebili was occupied by the French and became part of the French protectorate of Tunisia. After Tunisia gained independence in 1956, Kebili became part of the independent Tunisian state.
