Saint-Louis, Senegal, is a city located at the mouth of the Senegal River, on the Atlantic coast of Senegal. It is also known as Ndar and was once the capital of Senegal. The city has a tropical savanna climate, with hot and dry summers and warm and wet winters. Saint-Louis has a rich history and heritage, having been founded in the 17th century by French colonists. It was an important trading port and served as the capital of Senegal from 1673 to 1957. The city is home to many historical buildings, including the Governor's Palace, the Faidherbe Bridge, and the Saint-Louis Cathedral.
