Kresttsy is a town in Novgorod Oblast, Russia, located at the confluence of the Kresttsy and Kholova rivers, 98 kilometers (61 mi) southwest of Veliky Novgorod. The town has a population of 9,729 (2010 Census). The average temperature in Kresttsy is 4.2 °C (39.6 °F), and the average precipitation is 648 mm (25.5 in). The town was founded in the 15th century, and it was granted town status in 1776. Kresttsy is home to a number of historical and cultural monuments, including the Church of the Assumption (1764), the Church of St. Nicholas (1828), and the Kresttsy Museum of Local Lore.
