Kumëny is a town in Kirov Oblast, Russia, located in the Eastern European Plain, at 58°06′32″N 49°54′58″E. The town has a humid continental climate, with warm summers and cold winters. Kumëny was first mentioned in 1555 as a settlement on the Vyatka River. In the 17th century, it became a trading center for the region. In the 19th century, Kumëny became a center for the production of wooden goods. Today, the town is home to a number of industries, including a furniture factory and a dairy factory.
