Kuybyshevskiy Zaton is a town in the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia, located on the left bank of the Volga River, 25 kilometers southwest of Kazan. The town has a population of about 10,000 people and is known for its shipbuilding industry. The town was founded in 1932 as a shipyard for the construction of riverboats and barges. In 1957, the town was renamed Kuybyshevskiy Zaton in honor of Valerian Kuybyshev, a Soviet politician. The town has a humid continental climate with warm summers and cold winters.
