Stari Banovci is a village in Serbia located at latitude 44.9863900 and longitude 20.2866700, in the municipality of Stara Pazova, in the Vojvodina province. The village has a humid subtropical climate with hot summers and cold winters. Stari Banovci was first mentioned in 1455 as a property of the Serbian despot Đurađ Branković. In the 16th century, the village was under Ottoman rule and was part of the Sanjak of Smederevo. After the liberation of Serbia from Ottoman rule in 1830, Stari Banovci became part of the Principality of Serbia. The village is home to the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, which was built in 1834.
