Năsăud, also known as Nasaud, is a city in northern Romania, located in the Transylvanian Plateau at the confluence of the Someșul Mare and Someșul Mic rivers. The city has a temperate continental climate with warm, humid summers and cold, snowy winters. Năsăud was first mentioned in 1245 and was an important center of trade and commerce in the Middle Ages. It is home to several historical landmarks, including the 14th-century Franciscan monastery and the 18th-century Orthodox cathedral.
