Wieluń is a town in Łódź Voivodeship, Poland, situated at the confluence of the Widawka and Pyszna rivers, at an altitude of 170 meters. The town has a humid continental climate, with warm summers and cold, snowy winters. The average temperature in July is 19°C (66°F), while in January it is -2°C (28°F). Wieluń was first mentioned in the 13th century, and it received town rights in 1281. The town was an important center of trade and commerce in the Middle Ages, and it was also a member of the Hanseatic League. Wieluń was destroyed by fire in 1792, and it was rebuilt in the 19th century. The town was heavily damaged during World War II, and it was rebuilt again after the war. Today, Wieluń is a modern town with a population of around 24,000 people. The town is home to a number of historical and cultural landmarks, including the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Town Hall, and the Wieluń Museum.
