Acacoyagua, also known as Acacoyahua, is a municipality in the Mexican state of Chiapas, located at latitude 15.3500000 and longitude -92.6500000. It has a tropical climate, with an average temperature of 27 degrees Celsius and an annual rainfall of 2,000 mm. The municipality's history dates back to the pre-Hispanic period, when it was inhabited by the Zoque people. In the 16th century, it was conquered by the Spanish and became part of the province of Chiapas.
