Chilpancingo de los Bravos, also known as Chilpancingo, is the capital city of the Mexican state of Guerrero, located at 17.55°N, -99.5°W. The city has a subtropical highland climate with warm, humid summers and cool, dry winters. Chilpancingo was founded in 1599 by Spanish colonists and has a rich history, including being the site of the first Mexican Congress in 1813. The city is home to several historical landmarks, including the Chilpancingo Cathedral and the Guerrero Palace of Government.
