Luqa, also known as Hal Luqa, is a town in the southeastern region of Malta, located approximately 5 kilometers southwest of Valletta. The town has a warm Mediterranean climate, with mild winters and hot, dry summers. Luqa has a rich history dating back to the Middle Ages, and its heritage is reflected in its numerous historical landmarks, including the Parish Church of St. Andrew, built in the 16th century, and the Luqa Tower, a 17th-century watchtower that once guarded the coast from pirate attacks.
