Bătdâmbâng, also known as Battambang, is a city in western Cambodia and the capital of Battambang Province. It is located on the Sangke River, about 290 kilometers northwest of Phnom Penh. The city has a tropical climate with average temperatures ranging from 25 to 30 degrees Celsius throughout the year. Bătdâmbâng has a rich history dating back to the 11th century, and was once the capital of the Khmer Empire. The city is home to several historical sites, including the Phnom Banan temple complex and the Wat Ek Phnom temple.
