Cugliate-Fabiasco is a comune in the Province of Varese in the Italian region Lombardy. It is located about 40 kilometres (25 mi) northwest of Milan and about 10 kilometres (6 mi) west of Varese. The climate is humid subtropical, with hot, humid summers and cool, damp winters. The average annual temperature is 12.5 °C (54.5 °F), and the average annual precipitation is 1,067 millimetres (42.0 in). The town has a long history, dating back to the Roman era. It was first mentioned in a document from 973 AD, and it was later ruled by the Visconti and Sforza families. In the 16th century, it became part of the Spanish Empire, and it remained under Spanish rule until the 18th century. After the Napoleonic Wars, it became part of the Kingdom of Italy.
