Oria is a town in the province of Brindisi, Apulia, Italy. It is located in the south-eastern part of the province, about 25 kilometres (16 miles) from the city of Brindisi. The town has a population of around 15,000 people. The climate is Mediterranean, with hot, dry summers and mild, wet winters. The average temperature in July is 25 degrees Celsius (77 degrees Fahrenheit), and the average temperature in January is 8 degrees Celsius (46 degrees Fahrenheit). The town has a long history, dating back to the 11th century. It was once a Roman colony, and later became part of the Byzantine Empire. In the 11th century, it was conquered by the Normans, and in the 13th century, it became part of the Kingdom of Naples. The town has a rich cultural heritage, and is home to several churches, palaces, and other historical buildings.
