Jamshedpur, formerly known as Tatanagar, is a city in the Indian state of Jharkhand. It is located in the southern part of the state, on the banks of the Subarnarekha River. The city has a tropical climate with hot summers and mild winters. Jamshedpur was founded in 1919 by Jamshedji Tata, the founder of the Tata Group, and was named after him. It is a major industrial city and is home to several large steel and automobile plants. The city has a rich heritage and is home to several historical and cultural sites, including the Jubilee Park, the Tata Steel Zoological Park, and the Jamshedpur Art Gallery.
