Tornyospálca is a village in Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County, Hungary, with a population of around 3,000. It is located in the eastern part of the country, close to the border with Ukraine. The village has a humid continental climate, with hot summers and cold winters. Tornyospálca was first mentioned in historical records in 1261. The village was destroyed by the Mongols in 1241, but was rebuilt in the 13th century. In the 16th century, Tornyospálca became a Protestant stronghold. The village was damaged during the Second World War, but was rebuilt in the postwar years.
