The history of Bonne-sur-Ménoge dates back to the Roman era, when it was known as Bonum. In the Middle Ages, it was a fortified town, and its castle was destroyed in 1690 by the troops of Louis XIV. The town's heritage includes the Church of Saint-Martin, which dates back to the 12th century, and the Maison de la Tour, a 15th-century tower house.
