Charleval is a commune in the Seine-Maritime department in the Normandy region in northern France. It is located 49.3729° N, 1.38369° E, in the arrondissement of Dieppe, some 10 km north of Rouen. The commune has a humid oceanic climate with moderate winters and warm summers. Charleval's history dates back to the 11th century when it was a fortified town. The town was destroyed during the Hundred Years' War and rebuilt in the 15th century. Charleval is home to several historical monuments, including the 15th-century church of Saint-Pierre, the 16th-century manor of Charleval, and the 18th-century château of Bois-Guilbert.
