Maizières-lès-Metz has a rich history, dating back to the Roman era. The town was first mentioned in the 7th century, and it was later fortified by the Counts of Bar. In the 13th century, Maizières-lès-Metz became part of the Duchy of Lorraine. The town was annexed by France in 1633, and it remained part of France until the Franco-Prussian War of 1870-1871. After the war, Maizières-lès-Metz became part of the German Empire. The town was returned to France after World War I.
