Villers-Outréaux was first mentioned in a charter of 1147. The village was destroyed during the First World War, and was rebuilt in the 1920s. The village church, Saint-Martin, was built in the 16th century. The village also has a war memorial, which commemorates the villagers who died in the First World War.
