Gondomar is a municipality in the province of Pontevedra, Galicia, Spain. It is located in the comarca of Vigo, on the left bank of the Miño River, which forms the border with Portugal. The municipality has an area of 73.6 km2 and a population of 14,500 (2019). The climate is mild and humid, with average temperatures ranging from 10°C in winter to 25°C in summer. The municipality has a rich history, dating back to the Roman period. It was part of the Kingdom of Galicia from the 9th century until the 15th century, when it was incorporated into the Kingdom of Spain. Gondomar has a rich heritage, including the Monastery of San Pedro de Rocas, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
