Montemolín is a small municipality located in the province of Badajoz, Extremadura, Spain. The town is situated at an altitude of 482 meters above sea level, and has a population of approximately 1,500 people. The climate is Mediterranean, with hot summers and mild winters. Montemolín has a rich history, dating back to the Roman period. The town was once part of the Roman province of Lusitania, and was known as "Mons Molinus". In the Middle Ages, Montemolín was a stronghold of the Knights Templar, and was later conquered by the Moors. The town was finally reconquered by the Christians in the 13th century.
