Teulada is a municipality in the province of Alicante, Valencia, Spain. It is located in the comarca of Marina Alta, north of the provincial capital, Alicante. The municipality covers an area of 32.26 km² and has a population of 11,428 (2020). The weather in Teulada is typically Mediterranean, with hot, dry summers and mild, wet winters. The average annual temperature is 17.8 °C (64.0 °F). Teulada has a long and rich history, dating back to the Bronze Age. The town was founded by the Romans in the 1st century BC and was later ruled by the Moors from the 8th to the 13th century. Teulada was reconquered by the Christians in 1244 and became part of the Kingdom of Valencia.
