Bann is a municipality in the district of Kaiserslautern, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It is located in the west of the Palatinate Forest, approximately 10 km west of Kaiserslautern. The municipality has a population of around 2,200. The weather in Bann is temperate, with average temperatures ranging from 0°C in January to 20°C in July. The municipality was first mentioned in 1281 and was part of the County of Zweibrücken until 1797. It then became part of the French department of Mont-Tonnerre, and in 1815 it became part of the Kingdom of Bavaria. In 1946, it became part of the newly founded state of Rhineland-Palatinate. The municipality is home to a number of historical buildings, including the Bann Castle, which was built in the 13th century.
