Büchenbeuren is a municipality in the Rhein-Hunsrück district in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It is located in the Hunsrück mountains, at an elevation of 440 meters. The municipality has a population of around 1,700 people and covers an area of 8.25 square kilometers. The average temperature in Büchenbeuren is 9.5 degrees Celsius, with an average annual precipitation of 800 millimeters. The municipality was first mentioned in 1235 as "Buchenburnen". It was part of the County of Sponheim until 1437, when it passed to the Electorate of Trier. In 1801, Büchenbeuren became part of France, and in 1815, it became part of Prussia. After World War II, Büchenbeuren became part of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate.
