Kerben is a municipality in the Cochem-Zell district of Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It is located in the Hunsrück mountains, approximately 10 kilometers northwest of Cochem. The municipality has a population of around 700 people. The climate is temperate, with average temperatures ranging from 0°C in January to 20°C in July. Kerben has a long history, dating back to the Middle Ages. The town was first mentioned in a document in 1136. Kerben was granted town rights in 1332. The town was destroyed by fire in 1689 during the Nine Years' War. Kerben was rebuilt in the 18th century. The town's heritage is reflected in its many historic buildings, including the 14th-century church of St. Martin.
