Laboe, also known as Labo, is a municipality in the district of Plön, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, located on the Baltic Sea coast, approximately 10 kilometers northeast of Kiel. The town has a rich history dating back to the Viking Age, with its name derived from the Old Norse word "lagbo", meaning "place of law". Laboe is known for its picturesque harbor, sandy beaches, and the iconic Laboe Naval Memorial, a 72-meter-high tower that commemorates German sailors who died in the two World Wars.
