Lübesse is a municipality in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. It is located in the south of the district, about 15 km southeast of Ludwigslust and 25 km southwest of Parchim. The municipality has a population of about 450 people and covers an area of about 10 km². The climate is temperate, with average temperatures ranging from 3°C in January to 18°C in July. The history of Lübesse dates back to the 13th century, when it was first mentioned in a document. The village was part of the Duchy of Mecklenburg until 1918, when it became part of the German Empire. After World War II, Lübesse became part of the German Democratic Republic, and after the reunification of Germany in 1990, it became part of the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
