Steißlingen is a municipality in the district of Konstanz in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It is located in the Hegau region, near the Swiss border, at an altitude of 450 meters. The municipality has a population of around 5,000 people and covers an area of 17.26 square kilometers. The average temperature in Steißlingen is 9.4 degrees Celsius, and the average annual precipitation is 960 millimeters. Steißlingen was first mentioned in a document in 1092. The town was part of the County of Heiligenberg until 1535, when it became part of the Austrian Habsburg Monarchy. In 1806, Steißlingen became part of the Grand Duchy of Baden, and in 1871, it became part of the German Empire. Steißlingen is home to a number of historical buildings, including the St. Laurentius Church, which was built in the 15th century. The town also has a number of museums, including the Museum of Local History and the Museum of Agriculture.
