Strážnice is a town in the South Moravian Region of the Czech Republic, located on the Kyjovka River, 20 km southeast of Hodonín. The town has a population of about 5,500 and is known for its traditional folk music and dance festivals, which are held every year in the summer. Strážnice has a humid continental climate with warm summers and cold winters. The town was first mentioned in 1261 and was granted town rights in 1407.
