Leticia, also known as Leticija, is a city in southern Colombia located on the border with Brazil and Peru, at the confluence of the Amazon and Javari rivers. The city has a tropical rainforest climate with average temperatures ranging from 25°C to 32°C throughout the year. Leticia was founded in 1867 as a trading post and has a rich history as a hub for rubber and other rainforest products. It is also home to a diverse indigenous population, including the Ticuna, Yagua, and Cocama peoples, who have preserved their traditional cultures and languages.
