It has a humid subtropical climate with an average annual temperature of 17.5°C. Pingxiang has a rich history and cultural heritage, dating back to the Qin dynasty (221-206 BCE). It was an important center for the production of porcelain and tea during the Song dynasty (960-1279) and is home to several historical sites, including the Pingxiang Ancient City and the Pingxiang Confucian Temple.
