Xinhuang, also known as Huang, is a county-level city in the autonomous prefecture of Huaihua, Hunan, China. Located in the southwestern part of Hunan, it borders Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region to the west and Guizhou Province to the north. The city experiences a humid subtropical climate with an average annual temperature of 18.5°C (65.3°F) and an average annual precipitation of 1,420 mm (56 in). Xinhuang has a rich history and heritage, dating back to the Ming Dynasty. It is home to several historical sites, including the Xinhuang Ancient City and the Xinhuang Confucian Temple. The city is also known for its natural beauty, including the Wulingyuan Scenic Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
