Xisa, also known as Xi-sa, is a town in southern Yunnan Province, China. It is located in the mountains of the Ailao Range at an elevation of 1,700 meters (5,600 feet). The town has a population of about 10,000 people and is the center of the Xisa Yi Autonomous County. The climate of Xisa is subtropical, with average temperatures ranging from 10°C (50°F) in January to 25°C (77°F) in July. The town has a long history, dating back to the Han Dynasty (206 BCE - 220 CE). It was once an important stop on the Silk Road, and was known for its production of tea and horses.
