Ritzville is a city in Adams County, Washington, United States. It is located at the intersection of State Route 26 and State Route 29, approximately 25 miles (40 km) south of Spokane. The city has a population of approximately 1,600 people. The climate is semi-arid, with hot summers and cold winters. Ritzville was founded in 1881 by a group of German immigrants. The city was named after Philipp Ritz, one of the founders. Ritzville is home to several historic buildings, including the Ritzville Carnegie Library, which was built in 1911.
