Parkland, Washington is a city located in Pierce County, in the United States, approximately 5 miles south of downtown Tacoma. The city has a humid subtropical climate, with warm, dry summers and mild, wet winters. Parkland was originally inhabited by the Nisqually Native American tribe and was later settled by European Americans in the mid-19th century. The city was incorporated in 1995 and has a population of approximately 40,000 people. Parkland is known for its strong sense of community, its excellent schools, and its many parks and recreational opportunities.
