The city was originally settled by Mormon pioneers in 1853 and was named after the Weber River, which flows through the city. South Weber has a humid continental climate, with hot summers and cold winters. The city is home to a number of historical sites, including the South Weber Heritage Museum and the South Weber LDS Church.
