Kirtland, New Mexico, is a small community located in the northwestern part of the state, just outside of Farmington. The town has a population of around 7,500 people and is known for its rich history and cultural heritage. The town was founded in 1881 by Mormon settlers and was originally named Kirtland after the Kirtland Temple in Ohio. The town is home to a number of historic buildings, including the Kirtland Temple and the Kirtland Mission Home. The town is also home to the Navajo Nation Museum, which houses a collection of Navajo artifacts and art.
