Siren, Wisconsin, is a small town located in Burnett County at the intersection of US Highway 53 and Wisconsin Highway 77. The town has a humid continental climate with warm, humid summers and cold, snowy winters. Siren was founded in 1856 by Norwegian immigrants and was named after the sirens that were said to inhabit the nearby lakes. The town's heritage is still evident in its Norwegian architecture and its annual Syttende Mai (Norwegian Independence Day) celebration.
