North Hero was first settled in 1788 by Revolutionary War veterans. The town was named after General Ethan Allen, who was a hero of the Battle of Plattsburgh. North Hero is a popular tourist destination, with many visitors coming to enjoy the town's beaches, parks, and historical sites.
