Cranston, a city in Rhode Island, United States, is located at the northern end of Narragansett Bay, just south of Providence. It has a humid continental climate with warm, humid summers and cold, snowy winters. Cranston was originally settled by Europeans in the 17th century and was incorporated as a town in 1754. It became a city in 1910 and is now the third-largest city in Rhode Island. Cranston has a rich history and heritage, with many historic sites and landmarks, including the Governor Sprague Mansion, the Cranston Historical Society, and the Roger Williams Park Zoo.
