Danville is a borough in Montour County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is located at the confluence of the Susquehanna and Mahoning Rivers, approximately 60 miles north of Harrisburg. The climate is humid continental, with hot summers and cold winters. Danville was founded in 1774 by William Montgomery and named after his hometown in Virginia. It was an important center of the coal and iron industries in the 19th century and is now home to Geisinger Medical Center, one of the largest healthcare providers in Pennsylvania.
